Update

Well, I am starting to build my backlinks. I am currently thinking creatively and looking for free ways to bring up my backlink count. I found a few websites just by searching on google "free backlinks". After a month or so thinking creatively I will start to pay to have hundreds of more backlinks. But for right now, I am sticking to as free as I can get. How much money have I spent so far? None. Not a penny. The website is just a few days old, so eventually I will have to pay some money to get some good SEO started. But for right now, free is fine.

Sandbox?

What is a sandbox, you may be asking. Well a sandbox is a time period that every website must go through to have its keywords shown in search engines. How long? Well the general time throw out there is 9 months, but of course the more competitive keywords the longer it will take.

Most people look at it as a bad thing, when really it can be taken in a good way. This website, as an example, wont have 100% of its information ready until a few months. So it is a good time for websites to get their content (which as we discussed is very important.) ready for their users.

That pretty much sums up sandboxes. Just know you cant avoid them and everyone goes through them.

Some SEO myths

Matt Cutts answers Google questions:
- Myths: 1) sites on the same server, 2) IP, or 2) including off-domain JavaScript
- Launching sites with millions of pages: how should I do it best?
- Google images: updates on the horizon, and current Google Images technology

I figured this video would be useful to the most of you. Just watch, and it will clear some questions about SEO for you.

Update

Some of you may have been waiting for this. As of this moment I have finished todays updating for the website. Let me list what I have done:

  1. Added the website to related directories (even more)
  2. Added my website to the signatures of my forum users.
  3. Added a lot more content to the website and some outbound links.
  4. Advertised some free blog services to a forum.

See, thats not to complicated. However my traffic has doubled today what it was yesterday. And the day before that it is 7x higher. So I am slowly growing. This does not mean I have 100's of unique visitors a day, however it means I am growing. Soon I will have to pay money to get this website going even faster, I will try to set a budget and I will update you when I come up with a plan. See you soon,

~Christopher
