Well, that is PR in a nutshell. PR stands for page rank, and if you have google tool bar you see it on every web page. Or at least have the potential to see it. Some websites (like this one on the time of this post) are PR 0. Lets go over some simple questions.
Why do I want PR?
Well if you plan on selling links to your website, people really want to know if your website is high quality. And since PR is pretty much just finding out how good of a website you are, people use PR to figure the price they should charge, among a few other factors. PR is also one of the many things google uses to find out where to put you in the search engine.
How do I get PR?
While no single person who is no google knows every single way google uses to find out PR, the main things it looks at are these:
- Amount of Inbound Links (backlinks).
- The relevance of the websites the backlinks are coming from.
- The quality of the website the backlinks are coming from.
- Amount of Outbound links.
- The relevance of the website your website is linking to.
- Content (related to keywords).
- Amount of pages on website with good content.
This is all I can think of at the moment. I am sure there are more. PR is in essence a vote of every single web page on the internet on how good your web page is. The average PR for a website that is of good quality is at least PR 3. The higher the better. The only 10/10 PR rank website I can find is google itself. The highest PR rank I have seen is 7/10. The most common PR rank I have seen is 3/10. You will find it is hard to get PR, but it can bring up your price on link sales fairly high.
